The Bottle Shop Ltd import craft beers from across the globe and distribute the beer throughout the UK. It is a manufacturer's requirement for many craft beers that they are to be kept refrigerated throughout their lives, in order to maintain freshness and the correct taste - this is known as 'The Cold Chain'. In order to access many of these American craft beers available, The Bottle Shop needed to invest in a large chilled storage room to maintain a temperature of 4 deg. C.

Newman Refrigeration provided a full package for this project including the design and consultation, refrigeration, insulated box build and mains electrical supplies.

A refrigeration installation of this size had the potential to consume vast electricity, Newman Refrigeration are dedicated to providing lower energy solutions for our clients and this project was no exception. Therefore we designed and installed low energy plant using inverter driven Frascold compressors. The remote condenser was fitted with EC fans enabling us to float the discharge pressure of the system.

The evaporators were each fitted with electronic Danfoss AKV values and Evaporator control is via sophisticated RDM electronic controllers.

The installation was completed to our usual very high standards and the end results, well they were fantastic! 

Our design consultants calculated that the installed system uses approximately 60% less input energy than standard direct online systems would have used at this site.

A little extra investment on their capital expenditure has provided our client with a substantial ongoing return on their investment whilst minimising their carbon footprint.
